The 2011 Ermitage Cuvee de l’Oree comes from a lieu-dit known as Les Murets planted with 80- to 90-year-old Marsanne vines. The bouquet offers up scents of Asian spices, lychee nuts, white currant liqueur and peach and apricot marmalade. This stunning, honeyed, flamboyant white is perfection in a glass. Drink it over the next half century.

Gorgeously seductive, the aromas here twist and turn between wisps of smoke, buttery toast, meadow flowers and warm honeyed lemons. It's unlike anything I've ever tasted, a sip of pure gold, thick and rich. Decadent notes of praline, mint, toasted brioche and rye bread fan out on the everlasting finish. Totally knockout. From 60- to 70-year-old vines grown in the lieu-dit Les Murets.
Falstaff
From 70 year old vines: intense medium golden yellow, silver reflections. Candied lime zest, ripe yellow tropical fruit, a hint of acacia flowers, nuances of sea buckthorn and fresh ginger, multi-faceted bouquet. Full-bodied, powerful, ripe white fruit, but also yellow ringed carrots, fine wood savouriness, delicate umami touch, nuances of nougat, great length, mineral and youthful, huge potential. (2021 - 2040).
