A very fine-tannined, pure sangiovese Super Tuscan red with crushed stone, blueberries,blackberries and black cherries. Real terroir-driven character to this wine with well-balanced, intense and fine tannins and a long finish. Drink after 2024.

This red offers fruity, floral flavors signaled by aromas of ripe raspberry, cassis and violet, with earth, lavender and wild herb details. Elegant and silky, with firm tannins lurking beneath. Still could use some time to integrate. Best from 2025 through 2040. 500 cases made, 40 cases imported.

The 2018 Carla 6, the estate's top Sangiovese, is terrific. Like all of the La Massa wines, it is deep, fleshy and super-expressive. Succulent dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and spice are all kicked up in this beautifully textured wine. The Carla 6 deftly marries power with translucence.

Made with 100% Sangiovese, the Fattoria La Massa 2018 Carla 6 comes from a 1.5-hectare vineyard that was planted in 1999 on schistous and clay soils. This vintage reveals a meaty side with more fruit weight and concentration. The wine feels wide and rich to the palate, and it closes with dark fruit, tobacco, crushed stone and even a hint of caper or green olive. This 5,000-bottle production is fermented in stainless steel and then moves over to tonneaux (with one-third made from new oak) for finishing.
