Dark and alluring, with hints of Turkish coffee, juniper and smoldering bay leaf mixed with dark plum, black cherry and blackberry reduction notes. This has muscle and drive and is sleek and focused, with a prominent bolt of iron running through the very long finish. A terrific wine. Best from 2024 through 2038. 500 cases made, 56 cases imported.
Intense aromas of cherry, blackberry, exotic spices and cola are complemented by a smoky mineral topnote and a hint of bacon fat. Chewy and subtly sweet, offering concentrated red and dark berry preserve and licorice pastille flavors and a spicy jolt of black pepper. Finishes very long and spicy, with chewy tannins and a building floral note. 20% new barriques. 93-95
