James Suckling: 96 Points
This astonishing and unique wine gives you an idea what the 18th-century Bordeaux that were "Hermitagé" tasted like. Very smoky with deep elderberry fruit and a cornucopia of wild herbs. Enormous power and structure, but somehow all of this meshes together beautifully to create an imposing yet subtle whole. Full balsamic and black-olive character in the huge finish. A unique cuvee of 45% grenache, 5.3% mourvedre and 2.7% syrah from the Rhone vinified by Stephan Usseglio, plus 23.5% each of merlot and cabernet franc from Bordeaux made by Emmanuelle Fulchi and Jean-Christophe Meyrou. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
