Nestling in a lacquered box, this unique creation is presented in a small 1.75 liter, ‘dame-jeanne’, like the famous 25 liters ‘dames-jeannes’ from which Tesseron has selected its oldest cognacs and finest eaux-de-vies. This is the very first time that these ancient treasures, sheltered in the peace and privacy of Tesseron’s ‘’Paradis’’ cellars, have been offered for sale. The Tesseron Extreme really is something special. A collector’s item and rare pearl, it is a piece of history and a celebration of the craftsmanship and heritage that the four generations of the Tesseron family have brought to the world of Cognac. Created by cellar master and master blender Jacky Martial, this Cognac contains a harmonious marriage of eaux-de-vie that have been carefully selected over a year long process, with some boasting ages of over 100 years old. Only 300 decanters of this extraordinary Cognac are produced every year.

A remarkable spirit, Tesseron’s Cognac Extreme is blended from eau de vies from 1860 through the early 1900s. It offers up scents of wild cherry, sage, mint, tobacco, cedar and sweet spice, all in a deceptively medium-bodied, refined style. The Extreme is intensely floral but also has quite a bit of depth and tons of character. I admire its graceful, layered almost ethereal personality. It is a contemplative, wonderfully dynamic Cognac to savor at the end of a meal. Terrific.
