James Suckling: 98 Points
For the very hot year this has extraordinary vitality and is diamond-bright! A bit richer and more compact on the full-bodied palate than the crystalline nose suggested. I love the lemon-grass and dried-sage character and lemon-peel freshness. Incredibly long and complete finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The generous and herbal nose of the 2018 Riesling Grand Cru Geisberg is very clear, intense, concentrated and saline. On the palate, this is a rich and powerful, fleshy and almost viscous Geisberg, with fine tannins and rather smooth acidity and 14.5% stated alcohol. It's naturally long and powerful and accessible earlier than the 2019. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024 and again on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Clos Ste Hune at the beginning of November, with the same result, but this note: The 2018 Geisberg Riesling is deep, very intense and aromatic on the nose that represents the very dry and warm vintage. Full-bodied, rich and very powerful on the palate, this is a massive and muscular, luckily also saline-finishing Riesling that is still a bit edgy and will still need years to refine and gain in finesse. It is doubtlessly a complex and potential wine.
