The 2022 Clos Des Lunes Lune D’Argent Blanc is clean, bright, and pure, with notes of lemon curd, white flowers, and crushed stone. Vibrant, focused, and elegant on the palate, it has impressive precision and a great finish, all making for an outstanding, incredibly satisfying white. Brought up in a mix of stainless steel and oak, drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years.
Fine reduction with flint and matchstick characters that protect the creamed citrus. Pretty full-bodied and broad at the start with a lightly phenolic middle and a flavorful, saline finish. 70% semillon and 30% sauvignon. Try from 2025.
For me, the best dry white Bordeaux is Semillon-driven, and this is a classic expression, blended with 30% Sauvignon Blanc. Made from old vines in Sauternes by Olivier Bernard, owner of Graves heavyweight Domaine de Chevalier, the weight and concentration strike you immediately, but it’s not overbearing. Juicy white peach opulence, acacia blossom fragrance, lemon peel zest and a seam of minerality. Complex and rewarding, and could be cellared for another five years.
