Lots of blackberry and black-cherry aromas follow through to a medium body and firm and silky tannins. Drink or hold.
60/40 blend of malbec and cabernet sauvignon; from ungrafted vines planted in 1935; aged 18 months in new French oak): Bright, dark red. Inviting, subtly complex aromas of black raspberry, mocha and espresso, with a building floral element. Offers lovely ripeness of fruit without any roasted character, with dark berry flavors complicated by medicinal herbs, spices and high-quality smoky oak. Finishes with noble, even tannins and terrific persistence. Very young but already superb, this wonderfully elegant wine is about much more than simply fruit.
