This also displays a hint of herbal tea character on the otherwise overtly gamey, earthy and plum liqueur suffused nose. There is outstanding richness, volume and power to the big-bodied flavors that exude plenty of minerality on the moderately rustic and explosive finish. This isn't presently as complex as the Bressandes but it's even longer and if the typical pattern these two wines follow occurs in 2012, the Clos du Roy will ultimately be the better wine. Note well though that this will not be a candidate for early drinking and will need at least 8 to 10 years first. 91-94
