Burghound: 96 Points
A fresh and beautifully layered nose once again somewhat grudgingly offers up a range of white orchard fruit aromas that are laced with hints of phenolic character, citrus and acacia blossom. The rich, sappy and powerful big-bodied flavors are surprisingly refined while displaying superb length on the compact, tightly wound and comparably built-to-age finale. This hugely long and impeccable well-balanced effort is also packed with development potential and it would be a shame to open one too early. As good as a number of the wines are, this is the clear class of the range in 2022. If you can find it, buy it
Vinous: 95 Points
The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a big leap up from the Corton-Charlemagne: much more mineralité and tension - you can smell the terroir here. The palate is well-balanced and slightly austere, with deft touches of crushed limestone and white pepper, strict and linear on the finish, yet very powerful. Could this surpass the outstanding 2021 last year?
